1. Fabric Basic Parameter
Blend ratio: 75% Cotton + 25% Polyester, Unit weight: 320g/m², Weave structure: 4/1 satin weave
- 4/1 satin means four warp yarns float over one weft yarn regularly, forming smooth glossy fabric surface, tight fabric construction.
2. Raw Material Characteristic Breakdown
75% Cotton
High cotton proportion improves moisture absorption, air permeability and wearing comfort; cotton fiber is the carrier for durable Proban cross-linking flame retardant finish. It rapidly carbonizes under flame to form dense char barrier isolating heat and oxygen, achieving self-extinguishing effect.
25% Polyester
Enhances fabric tensile strength, tear resistance, anti-wrinkle and anti-shrink performance; lowers fabric deformation after repeated washing; improves dimensional stability compared with pure cotton satin. Low polyester content effectively reduces molten drip risk during fire exposure.
3. Key Functional Finishing (Common for safety workwear)
Flame Retardant Treatment
Adopts THPC-based Proban durable cross-link FR finishing, FR agent chemically bonds inside cotton fiber. LOI ≥28, keeps stable flame retardancy after minimum 50 industrial wash cycles, meets EU EN ISO11611 & EN ISO11612.
Antistatic Finish
Grid-type conductive filament embedded evenly in warp & weft direction. Surface resistance ranges from 10⁶~10¹¹Ω conforming to EN1149-5, safely releases static charge and avoids spark ignition in flammable environments.
4. Advantages of 4/1 Satin Structure
- Smooth silky handfeel, softer than twill/canvas, greatly upgrade wear comfort for long-shift work;
- Compact fabric density at 320gsm, excellent wear resistance and barrier performance against spark, welding spatter and dust penetration;
- Neat surface for printing high-visibility reflective tape or brand logo, ideal for finished safety garment appearance.
5. Application
Mainly tailored into welding jacket & bib overall, petrochemical antistatic safety uniform, high-grade industrial flame resistant workwear complying with CE EU standards.
6. Pros & Cons
Advantages
- High cotton content balances breathability and FR property; moderate polyester improves fabric stiffness and durability;
- 320gsm heavy satin offers superior anti-spatter performance vs lightweight twill;
- Premium texture, positioned as mid-to-high end FR workwear fabric better than regular T/C twill.
Shortcomings
Satin weave costs higher than plain/twill; higher cotton proportion leads to slightly larger shrinkage than high-polyester TC fabric.
